Hi there, and welcome to Sol Seekers! I’m Elisabeth Dombrow, a traveling mom with a deep passion for adventure, learning, and creating lifelong memories with my family. This blog is my little corner of the internet where I share the incredible journey of homeschooling my children while exploring the world together.
The idea of homeschooling on the road might sound unconventional, and I’ll admit it wasn’t always part of our plan. Like many parents, I initially imagined a more traditional path for my children’s education. But as our family’s love for travel grew, so did my realization that the world itself offers lessons no classroom can replicate. Every new destination brings opportunities to explore history, geography, science, and culture firsthand, transforming learning into an immersive experience.
Why We Chose This Path
When I think about why we’ve chosen this lifestyle, it boils down to two simple things: time and perspective. Traveling allows us to spend meaningful, uninterrupted time together as a family, building bonds and creating memories that will last a lifetime. At the same time, it gives my kids a broader perspective on the world, helping them appreciate diversity, adapt to new situations, and cultivate empathy.
Homeschooling has been a perfect complement to our travels. It gives us the flexibility to follow a curriculum tailored to my kids’ needs and interests while allowing space for spontaneous learning—whether that’s exploring marine biology on a snorkeling trip, learning a new language in a foreign country, or studying history while standing in the ruins where it all happened.
